This workshop will be given in Dutch

Are you curious about how to not only teach children to dance, but also make them truly feel what movement is? In this dynamic workshop, Lowie takes you through his unique approach to teaching steps and movements. He shares his expertise on how to structure dance lessons so that every participant, regardless of level, feels engaged and motivated. Additionally, you’ll gain insight into his methods for differentiation, ensuring you always cater to the needs of each student. But that’s not all! Lowie also gives you a glimpse into his creative process: how he creates choreographies that reflect his signature dance style and how he translates these into accessible teaching material for children. This workshop is the perfect opportunity to elevate your own dance lessons and get started with new inspiration!

Why take part in this workshop according to programmer Anne-Lore?

It’s always interesting to look over the fence at how teachers of other dance styles approach things. When I want to break out of my routine and habits, I do something completely different; a dance style I’m not familiar with at all. For people who teach Hip Hop, this workshop is an ideal opportunity to discover and share tips.

Who is Lowie Deseyne?

Lowie discovered his love for dance in the year 2000. Through hard work, a thirst for learning, and dedication to what ultimately became his passion, he succeeded in establishing himself in the Belgian dance scene. Over the years, he has performed as a dancer in various competitions, shows, and TV programs, including *Belgium’s Got Talent* in 2012 with the crew Co.Lab, where they made it to the finals. While his main focus is on hip-hop and house, he is always open to exploring other dance styles.

In addition to being a dancer, Lowie is also a choreographer and instructor at various dance schools. During workshops at home and abroad, he strives to share his knowledge and experience with others, contributing to their growth and inspiration.

He is also one of the driving forces behind The Spot, a dance school and, more importantly, a community in Ghent that has grown over the years into a full-fledged and close-knit network within the dance world, where everyone can fully express their passion.

In his dance classes, Lowie emphasizes not only technique, feeling, musicality, and creativity but also the development of the dancer as a person. In this way, he aims to help his students discover their unique qualities and potential, enabling them to express themselves fully through dance.
